just a thought

When was the last time you did something for someone? I am not talking about giving blood,or building a house,or loaning money, although those are often fine things. And I am certainly not talking about donating to this cause or that, which are sometimes fine things but often not.
Rather, I am talking about smiling hello at someone. Opening a door. Helping pick up something that has been dropped. If there is such a thing as karma I think these are the things that count. The little things, soon forgotten on a conscious level by the other person but which help their day go a little better.

Date: 2006-01-27 03:52 am (UTC)As I now work at Citibank I see a lot of people coming and going. I hold the door for all of them. Once everyone else has gone I go. When passing in a tight hallway/walkway I always stop and let them pass. What you describe (not the donating. It is my nature to do these things. Always have always will. I even do such things for people that I do not really get along with. And no I do not do it to rub it in their face, I just do it.
