Of course all of those would make for a whole new poll. And I had to put a combination entry against my better judgement because I agree. Although I would have to say it is easier for me to read a graphic with less than perfect writing than with less than perfect art so to speak. And the thing that really confuses me are graphic collections where each story has a different artist and yet there is a continuing story line.
I came not to mind the different artists in the Sandman series. Taken individually, and on terms of their art alone, there's some I flat out dislike. Neil's writing is so damn good, I don't mind, and, because of the story, even art I would not like at twice otherwise seems to fit. Go figure.
Of course, the whole dream aspect lends itself well to a variety of styles, including disjointed ones, really stylized ones, as well as beautiful photorealistic ones.
