Caveat Phobia

Ever do something you were afraid to do? More to the point,ever do something because you were afraid to do it? I have a more than severe case of acrophobia. I get dizzy watching the intros to Tim Burton films (people with acrophobia will know what I am talking about). So which ride do I hit first at amusement parks? The biggest roller coaster of course. And I am debating skydiving. This would be a double problem..not only acrophobia but a bum knee since I was 11. But it has to be a rush and a half,eh?

Twice I have done things that I was afraid to do. I went on a loopy coaster at Darien Lake and spent the rest of the day shaking and unhappy. I didn't feel proud of myself at all for doing it, sad to say, just terrified.

The other thing was last year when I interviewed My Favorite Author. And you may remember my angst over that....

I do not think the interview quite counts..you know you really wanted to do it,eh? As would I..but.

And you should feel proud of yourself. Of course if thee and thine are ever this way we have the Beast and Son of Beast..which are a bit bigger.

Oh, I wanted to do the interview, but I'm so very, very shy that I initially refused, and in the end decided to do it only because I was afraid to. And I was so, so relieved to be able to do it via email.

I suspect that the Beast and his Son will have to do without me. Though I like a good carousel now and again.
