I'd LOVE to attend. I've done quite a bit of Shakespeare, and I miss it horribly.

What I am thinking of in uncertain terms at the moment is sort of an ad hoc reading either at Highland or at the House.

Well, if it happens, let me know. I've been wanting to do something similar for several years now, but I've never been sure who to invite. I've finally met a few people who would be interested.

And that's way too exciting for me. :)

I'm teaching Macbeth and Tempest right now, and will be starting on another play in January.

Have you by any chance seen any of Slings and Arrows? Led me to trying to remember how the superstition about Mac got startted.

I've seen some of it. I have the first season recorded, but I've missed the rest of it. It was aired here at an odd time, if I recall correctly.

There are a number of theories behind the idea of Macbeth being bad luck. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=721201

I really struggle with the language of shakespeare. I once read Romeo and Juliet while stoned and it was wonderful, but alas I no longer get stoned so I no longer find reading shakespear wonderful.

My problem for years was not so much the language of Shakespeare but the people using that language..and using it badly..forsooth.

yes, that's it - the language isn't hard, but some people make it seem hard because they use it in such an affected way.

Sometimes it's not the comedy that works best, but the humour, if you can understand the difference.

I still think Scotland should sue him for Defamation of Character on behalf of King MacBeth though.

Slight amendment, I enjoy Shakespeare for the dialog/writing.

I try not to get too detailed in the polls. Otherwise I would have had a space for wordplay also..which is one of my favourite parts.
