Watching a special on Neanderthals and wondering what Creationists make of them? They apparently came first, and were capable of interbreeding with Homo Sapiens when they arrived on the scene. So does God look like a Neanderthal?

Actually, they normally say that Neanderthals are just another ethnic group of humans, albeit an extinct one. The real arguments come in for earlier ancestors - H. habilis and erectus specifically. Those tend to get grouped as apes which are completely separate from the human line. Or more often "monkeys", which always makes me want to sit people down and lecture until they can define "monkey" in their sleep.
