I don't really feel qualified to respond to the poll question, so I'm commenting here.
I say, jot some notes for the NaNo project, so you don't completely lose your train of thought. Take the Holiday weekend to give your brain a break, and when Monday arrives see how you feel about each project. Not trying to force it may provide insight into the NaNo Project, or the other might reach critical mass, and you'll have to get it outside of your head before it drives you nuts.
Or, you may decide to chuck it all in favor of a loving, deeply committed relationship... with a bottle of Bushmill's Black Label.
Whichever you decide, you have my respect. I once had to (ahem) adjust the page layout on a 10 page term paper, because I ran out of things to say on page 9. For me, starting a 50K word writing project would be an act of optimism of Pollyannic proportions.
