Which do you think has caused the most change in the world..the printing press, television or the internet. A case can be made for each of the three both to the positive and the negative. Which as led me to wonder what others think.

Printing press.
Television and the internet are spreading information instantly and globally, but it took a few men and a big machine without any electricity to start it all off.
Television enabled us to SEE everything and the internet allows us to interact and share what we know with one another but the printing press was the first method of spreading knowledge to the masses. Before that I believe all written material was the property of the religious and the rich.

Of course if you go by that reasoning, maybe minstrels caused the most change. Or some guy called Og who first said "Woah, Uff just got eaten by that tiger!".

They've all caused huge changes.

Huh. That's a very good question. My first thought was to say "internet," but given [livejournal.com profile] kelbardi's response, I'm not so sure.

Without the printing press, we wouldn't have the Internet.

Bigger yet - Mobile Phones. If you think about it they change everything. Most plots of most books ever written would have been quite invalid if mobile phones had existed at the time. I don't have one.
