For some reason I have been thinking about the different types of mystery stories this morning..such as
The Victorian..of ccourse there was Sherlock Holmes..founder of modern detective stories and of slash. And Miss Marple, who came later but is more or less a sister sleuth. Yes Sherlock used evidence..but mostly it was think think think EUREKA.
Noire..Sam Spade,Marlowe..the hat slouched over the eye, bottle of whiskey in the drawer and 38 in the pocket bumbler after the truth. Often more shot at then shooting and with THE DAME.
The Forensic Fondlers. This is,of course, the latest, even though there are links back to Sherlock. The evidence never lies says Mr Grissom. Interestingly, there was a story some time ago that Attorneys were striking people as jurors if they followed these shows regularly. People do not seem to realise that the scripts are fiction as much as the other categories.
Are there other categories?
