While Jethro Tull actually started in the 60s, they are best known for the work they did in the 70s. They were unique in their use of classical motifs combined with hard edged guitar, Ian's music hall like posing and the fact that they never talked about the glory of being young. Which I think has led to the music standing up very well thirty plus years later.

I admit it..it takes a lot to render me speechless. But neochichiri came ever so close to rendering me such. I will let him explain through his LJ post.
