Mundane

What have I been doing? Dancing on the edge of the pin,elbowed off by the angels who wanted extra space for disco. Which is to say, paperwork. But finally the committee has met and deemed me worthy. And once the appraisal agent agrees the house is livable, I shall be the owner(along with the Mortgage Company) of a domicile. Moving from a one bedroom flat in a 1950s building to a 3 bedroom brick built in 1900. Three (nonfunctional) fireplaces, 10 1/2 ft ceilings but with new windows,new furnace/AC etc. Which means I will be be broke for the next two years minimum. All assuming the house appraises out. Room for my books..what a concept.

short jot

There are times when the lift jerks a little before stopping at the right floor. It reminds me of being on a diving board. I stand near the lip as it bounces, waiting to dive into the world one more time. Of course, as idiosyncratic as the lift is, I am never quite sure what will be on the other side of the doors when they slide open. And there are times I do not care.
