curious

I wonder why it seems that people,esp Americans,seem to need a "them". This decade it is Arabs,last decade also. The 80s it was people suffering from AIDS, the 70s it was cults and militias,the 60s it was hippies,the 50s it was Commies under the bed. These are not,for the most part, the result of government conspiracies but rather groundswells from the people themselves. As if there were some social need to have a target to hate..and to fear.
