Getting too close to St Patrick's Day not to have a few days of Irish music. Starting oout, of course, with the fellows who made it popular in the 50s and 60s, letting the styles of the songs free to be woven into all sorts of things. I can remember living in one town where there was a stream nearby. And at night I would walk the road along the stream and look at the stars and sing this song over and over again.
The sweaters btw, were made by Mrs Clancy for the lads because it was said the weather could be terrible fierce in America. And they became a trademark not just for the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, but for a whole generation of Irish singers. Yes, I did have one..no, there are no photos.
