spiral5 made a comment I still am thinking about. He was talking about V for Vendetta and mentioned that he was glad that he had not read the book yet.

If you have a good book and a good movie, but one differs from the other, which would you rather do first..read the book or see the movie. Perhaps I am old fashioned, but books will always be more important to me. On the other hand, I hope I am discerning enough to know why there are differences between movie and book. Not always, but usually.
