Why are some theories corrupt? Several reasons come to mind. Sometimes it is accidental. People change the data without realising it. Sometimes they know they are doing it, but for unselfish purposes. Sometimes they do it quite deliberately and for selfish reasons. And sometimes what they actually alter is the data of others to belittle their hypothesis or promote their own.
