mundane

Did not get around to seeing Prarie Home Companion. As is usual, the only people who offered to go were people who were patently unable to. This is,of course, a running strain in my life, and one reason I have never officially thrown in the house for a shindig. Field of Dreams was a lie as it were.

One could legitimatly ask why I did not go see it by myself. And if I had an answer I would give it to you. The fact is I just cannot see movies alone. But then there a good many public activities I cannot go to on my own for whatever reason. These things happen,eh?

See it...

Really. You'll like it. I like to go to movies. Back a few years ago, since I was pretty socially isolated after my daughters moved out, I took up going by myself. I actually came to like it. I saw a LOT more movies back then.

Of course, now that I have a life again, I prefer that to solitary movie-going. Still, on occassion, I go, because often I find that there are movies I want to see that no one else will go to. And even with my home theater setup (which is, I guess pretty good) I prefer to see movies in a real cinema.

I have missed out on many movies when they are in the theaters for the same reason- an inability to see movies alone. I hate walking out of a theater, with no one to discuss it with afterwards.
