dragging out the soapbox again
Sometimes you can be a friend and not agree. In this case,the comment of ID,Creationism,etc being a case of God vs Science.
My first thought was that what is really going on is Religion vs Science. But the fact is that the major Christian (which is what we are referring to) religions are not against Evolution. The Roman Catholic,Eastern Orthodox,Russian Orthodox,Anglican and Episcopal religions come to mind right off.
I think what we are actually dealing with is loneliness vs Science. People are afraid that they are alone in the Universe. That even if there is a God that said deity has left us be. Creationism is their way of saying that God is responsible for life, and thus still there.
I can understand it to a degree, having learned a bit about loneliness over the last few years. But the fact is that ignoring the Truth does not it any less true. And the last thing I would want to see is that loneliness and fear being passed on to new generations.
